JUNIOR TORAH SCHOOL

Junior Torah School (Ages 4 & 5)
This fun-filled introduction to Jewish learning and Temple life is conducted on Saturday mornings, with Hebrew, songs, art and story telling.

Junior Torah School (Kindergarten - Grade 3)
This program takes place every Saturday morning from 9:00 AM to 12:00 and includes Jewish studies, art, music, and Hebrew lessons. The program culminates with Shabbat Youth Services.

TORAH SCHOOL

Torah School (Grade 4 & 5)
This program takes place every Saturday morning from 9:00 AM to 12:00 and includes Jewish studies, art, music, and Hebrew lessons. The program culminates with Shabbat Youth Services.

Torah School (Grade 6)
Students attend classes in Hebrew, Jewish studies, art and music on Saturdays. In addition to one afternoon class on Monday (West Island) and Wednesday, (Westmount)

Torah School (Grade 7)
Students attend classes on Monday from 4:30-6:30 PM (West Island), or Wednesday from 4:30-6:30 PM (Temple Emanu-El Beth Sholom).The program consists of Judaic studies in English, including Mitzvah and core Jewish Knowledge. Students are provided with tutors in preparation for their Bar/Bat Mitzvah. There are six (6) Family Education Days held on Saturdays, dates to be determined.

Torah School (Grade 8 &9)
Kabbalat Torah students study Jewish Law and discuss contemporary headline social problems from Jewish sources. Kabbalat torah takes place at the end of Grade 9. Confirmands meet regularly on Saturdays to study with a teacher and the Rabbi.

Bar/Bat Mitzvah Program (Grades 6 & 7)
This two year Bar/Bat Mitzvah program is the focal point of Torah School. Classes are held at Temple Emanu-El- Beth Sholom or the West Island, with private tutoring for 7th graders.→ Link to Bar/Bat Mitvah Page

Kids First Program
Targeting young parents with children from 0-7 years of age, this popular group regularly organizes Jewish holiday parties at Sukkoth, Chanukah, and Purim. Story-telling, songs, crafts and music with Jewish teachings, provide a stimulating and happy environment for our youngest members!

M.O.F.T.Y Programs (Grade 7 - 11)
Primarily a social networking group with a strong Jewish focus. M.O.F.T.Y. welcomes youth from 12-18 to engage in fun, social action, volunteering in various Temple programs as well as the community, movie and pizza nights, and relaxed get-togethers. → Link to M.O.F.T.Y. Page
