The Golem of Prague read by Rabbi Greenspan

For today’s Daily Inspiration, Rabbi Greenspan tells the story “The Golem of Prague.” There are many variations of this particular story, and stories about Golems abound in Jewish folklore. Rabbi Greenspan shares a simple version of “The Golem of Prague”, adapted from one she found on the internet.

The Temple Book Group read two books about golems: The Golem and the Jinni, by Helene Wecker and The World that We Knew by Alice Hoffman. What is particularly fascinating is that in Jewish folklore, golems were male, but in both of these novels, the golems were women.
