“Bar/Bat mitzvah” means “son/daughter
of the commandments.”
When a child becomes a Bar or Bat Mitzvah, s/he joins Temple life as an adult. The ceremony itself is the celebration of this important beginning, as your child reads from the Torah, helps lead the service, and shares his/her own modern interpretation of ancient traditions and texts. At Temple, we have the same high expectations of our boys and our girls, when they step up as bnei mitzvah at thirteen years old. Our two-year Bar and Bat Mitzvah program ensures a meaningful and inspiring celebration of this important milestone. The preparation includes family education, field trips, online learning, and study with peers, all with the intent of making Jewish identity real in the lives of our youth. Please be in touch with our Torah School to enroll your child and set a date.
